Washington DC

Hi from Erin! We are now in Washington DC. There is a lot to see and do. I don’t think that we could see everything here. It would be impossible. We have gone to a lot of places like the Air and Space Museum. It was very neat. There were a lot of things to see. We saw the first rocket to go to the moon. They had it in a plastic thing so you could not take pieces of it home. We rode Air Force plane simulators. They were fun. You would feel like you were in an actual plane. You could go upside-down and sideways. It was the most amazing thing ever. You could get seasick.

There were a lot of facts on World War 2 and all the monuments. We also went to the spy museum. That was really good. We got an under cover name that a spy had actually used. They showed how to pick locks and what kind of gadgets they used, like the shoe phone. They also had the brief case recorder and the tie camera. They had a American Seal carved out of wood for a senator, given to him by Russian school children. It had been bugged and the Senator didn't know it. It sat in the senator's office for 32 years. This happened in the 1940’s.

We went in the Capital building when the 700$ billion bail out was happening. We watched our taxes burn with the helicopters that carry the president places. The helicopters have to fly right above the river because they can not fly near the near the airport on one side of the river. So they fly down the river right over our boat. They have to fly below 500 feet, so they are very loud. Nice wake up call though. I guess that the president likes to do his work early. We went to the Natural History Museum today; we got to see some beautiful gems, diamonds, and the new ocean exhibit. We also saw the butterfly exhibit. A butterfly landed on my hat and would not get off so I named her Kelly.
Now going back about a week, we were in Baltimore, Maryland. That was a really neat place. We went to the Aquarium. It was huge. We saw the dolphin show. The dolphins were amazing they could do so many tricks. They had a lot of fish. We got to see them feed the sting rays. We got to see them feed the sharks too, that was cool.

We also met my dad’s friend, Brian and had dinner at his apartment and play Wii.

The Baltimore Harbor also had a trapeze training school in the park next to us. We watched the final exams every night to see who could do a flip from on bar to the other. It was pretty exciting. Well that all for now folks!

Erin, Sounds like Washington was fun. I have never seen the WWII memorial so I appreciated the pictures. The spy stuff sounds just like Get Smart!! The bug in the senator's office is interesting, I bet that happens alot! Have you been on your whip stick (or whatever it is called)? How is school going? Be careful and Be good. Miss you, Love Aunt Carol

YAY!!! You've posted!!!! And I've posted before Mr. Poduska!!! It's a miracle!! :P :)
You guys seem to be keeping busy. (Especially w/the boat - don't worry, Mr. Sandridge, my dad is ALWAYS fixing things - whether with his work, the addition, or just other things.) The bug in the senator's office sounds très intéressant. I really would like to look into that if I ever go to that place. Also funny with you Erin with the airplane simulators, "You could get seasick.", knowing you..... Question; Why did you name your butterfly Kelly? I know that when my friends and I went to the Botanical Gardens in Cleveland in 4th grade, my two friends Lizzy and Sitha(this is actually mainly Sitha)are TERRIFIED of butterfly. So when we went into the Butterfly room of the museum - they were screaming and running away from all of the butterflys - which was pointless seeing they were all around. They named this huge blue and black one - I think - terror - once again I think they named it that. Keep having fun! Hope it's warm down south!!

Of course, I must tell you about Solon, swim practice, school and more.....here we go... We are back @ the high school to swim now!! And our first meet(CCS) is this weekend!! GO STRS!!
Anyway, yes it's nearing Halloween, and we did have something at swim practice that gave us a good scare. Um, Coach Dave, the one who does the AGE all the time and the AGMS half the time, he had a mini-stroke during practice. Um, we were all in the water and he was starting to scare us a little, like his eyes were rolling a bit and he wasn't responding for somethings, and he couldn't read the time - he was going to keep us a half hour longer till 9:30 until Ally got out and showed him her phone. That's when the parents stepped in and Mrs. Veto and Anna took him to the hospital, where they found out. So far, we don't exactly know how he's doing, but they think there'll be not as bad damage because we got him to the hospital early enough for anything really bad to happen due to the stroke. Right now, our prayers and thoughts are with him, and I thought, seeing that Dave would have been Erin's coach half the time, that you guys would have liked to know.
Anyways, nothing else is really happening, except for at the first school dance, were Elijah was being his "wife mode" again, and asked my friend to marry him, she said yes, they slow danced, and ya. Not much to expect with Elijah except for the fact that my friend is now obsessed w/him. and she knows what he's like half the time and I guess they sit w/each other on the bus sometimes. Oh well. Typical Elijah. See u!

love,
Hal

Erin and Geneva, you guys are really getting to see alot of great stuff. You went to some of the same places that we did just a couple of weeks ago when we were in DC. It's really neat all of the history that is spread throughout the city. I really enjoy your writings of your trip and the pics. Keep it up. Enjoy. Hope to see you all soon. Love Uncle Larry.
